Autumn Winter 24 has started landing in store and whilst there are wintery colours like black, tan and khaki, there is undeniably a strong trend towards a bold print. At their loudest, they are midi length dresses but they could be more subtle in the form of a shirt paired back with denim.
So how do you work an outfit around a bold print dress?
Firstly, let the dress be the hero. The easiest way is to do this is to pair the statement dress with a neutral shoe - think ankle boot in cream, tan or black and a sneaker always works well here too. Choosing a handbag that has similar tones to your shoe also helps to calm the overall outfit effect. Make it slightly louder by adding a touch of metallic.
Another way to tone the dress down is to add a neutral outer layer. Think a long caramel coat, denim jacket or a cream jumper.
If a bold print dress is still too much for you, try a printed top instead. With the opportunity to pair it back with a neutral bottom colour or denim, this is the perfect way to build confidence with your use of colour or print. Again neutral accessories to get you started but then you could venture into a louder shoe or bottom half.
